Storage solution [07 Apr 2007|02:24pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

I found the perfect storage for my growing perfume oil collection today! I have been searching threads for storage ideas to house the orders/swaps that are on the way to me. My preference was to have my full size bottles on display on shelves and my imps in boxes large enough to stand them up for easy access.

So when I saw this cabinet at Loot Gallery, I had to snatch it up. It was marked down to $39 from $164 due to some damage to the wood and two of the bottoms drawers being missing. I asked the staff there if they would go lower on the price and they offered it for $20!! Yes please.

Here is the cabinet sitting on my dresser. The wooden jewellery box next to it is where I previously had my imps and full size perfumes. I have also been accumulting a lot more jewellery thanks to Etsy and WS, so I'm glad to have this box available again.

The shelving. There is enough room to add more shelves, or I could add some step style storage as the shelves have enough depth. If anyone can recommend an online store that sells step style storage, I would love to know where I can find these.

The drawer. I don't like the look of these white drawers anyways, so the two being missing isn't a loss to me. I will probably fill the gaps with wicker baskets or something similar that fits. The drawer space is high enough that I will be able to store the imps standing up with dividers.

The fact that my body oils/sprays also fit in the cabinet means that I have more space freed up on my bathroom shelving for my ever growing stash of bath and body products...trying to organise those is a whole other story!

Isle of Eden [02 Apr 2007|01:55pm]
I received my huge IoE order today. Two problems: the 9 oz bath cream in Pink Pina Colada was missing and the Can't Sleep, Clowns Will Eat Me huge 13.5 bath cream is friggin scentless. Gah.

I emailed Alexa to let her know about the missing product earlier and got a very cryptic response:

"Hi:

Can you tell me who's are on the packing slip?
They will send it out, of course."

That's it. Very weird. I replied to that email earlier and am yet to receive a response. I only discovered the scentless bath cream during lunch, so I will have to add on that problem later.

This was an order that was placed on the 8th February. Received in Australia 2nd April. So I am pretty damn annoyed that there are problems and the shit will hit the fan if they are not fixed up quickly. Word on the LUSH NA forum is that problem products will need to be mailed back to Alexa now. Well, no way am I waiting for bath cream to travel all the way back to the USA to receive the correct product. I don't know how anyone can send a scentless 22USD bath cream, but apparently it's possible!

The bloody annoying thing is that the products are so damn good and now I am eyeing off the Bunny Day Sugar Rush Scrub. So, I will order again despite the annoyances, since I'm such a sucker for the product. Gah!

Perfume oil testing frenzy [01 Apr 2007|12:41pm]
So I finally set aside some time this weekend to test all my perfume oil imps and samples, and let go of the ones that don't agree with me, that I wouldn't wear and the samples that I already have in full size.

I have posted them here for sale or swap.

I also found a Pink Moon for sale and managed to snag it. It will be my first full size BPAL perfume oil.

Packages! [31 Mar 2007|04:34pm]
Yesterday was a great day for packages in the mail. especially since I wasn't expecting any to show up so soon! I received an order from Lathers and Lights, and a BPAL decant of Pink Moon 2007 from a Lushie on the Aust forums.

I tested Pink Moon 2007, and I am in love. It is the most freshest floral scent, like a fresh bouquet of flowers, without being headache inducing on me. It is such a light airy scent without actually having any horrible high notes. I love it and am scrambling to buy a full bottle. The lovely Lushie also included sniffies of Smut 2007, Shub-Niggurath and Fenris Wolf, which I am looking forward to testing as soon as I have some free skin.

The Lathers and Lights order:

Sole Survival Foot Scrub, 5 oz - This foot scrub was ok but I found that it didn't leave moisture behind in my feet like the solid scrub bars from Wylde Ivy do. I think I will keep using my solid scrub bars daily and keep this for a weekly treatment when I know I will have enough time to slather up with moisturiser after using it.

Custom Sugar Scrub, Gingerbread Girl, 10 oz - Wow. This is the star of the order. I got it with additives of brown sugar and candy sprinkles. While I was using this in the shower, I felt like I was surrounded by the most luscious moist doughy gingerbread. I was seriously salivating in the shower. I think the brown sugar really helped to make this a true gingerbread scent.

8 oz Custom Body Lotion, Gingerbread Girl - A good follow up to the scrub, and the scent is as good as it gets for a lotion.

10 ml Custom Perfume Oil, Gingerbread Girl - very nice but little throw and didn't seem long lasting on me. However, there is definately enough in the roll on to slather and reapply though.

4 oz Custom Lotion, Ginger Tea - I picked this lotion from a sample in a previous order. It is described as a White Tea and Ginger scent and smells exactly like this. I wore this today with my Pink Moon and it was lovely.

2 oz Custom Lotion, Red Velvet Cake - On me, this smells like sweet cream cheese with a cakey background. I will appreciate the 2 oz of it but probably won't puchase anymore.

2 oz Custom Lotion, Lemon Cloud - A true straight up lemon scent with a sugary background to soften it.

Samples:
Body Butters: Island Nectar, Creme Vanille, Angel Food Cake, Valentines Cookies, Soft Kisses and Cupid's Kiss.
Lotion: Irish Mocha
Scrub: Caramel Apple (looking forward to testing this)

And of course, the reason why we order from Lathers and Lights - the free duckie!

A close up of the Gingerbread Girl Scrub. The candies make it look really pretty.

The Sole Survival Foot Scrub. I love the look of the blue bits throughout.

How can you resist this face?

Etsy Purchases [31 Mar 2007|03:44pm]
I received a few Etsy purchases in the mail this week and was impressed with how my goodies got to me.

I had purchased three pairs of earrings from The Pebble Collection during a SNS. The SNS was 10% off and free shipping. At the same time, the store was having a buy two get one free special for March. I didn't realise at the time, but the store owner emailed me to let me know when she received my order, and asked me to choose another item for free.

Here is my package, nicely wrapped and with a thank you note offering free shipping on my next purchase:

The earrings, all packaged up in their own boxes:

I also received these earrings from Carol Lee Designs:

Carol packaged up the earrings beautifully and included one of her own gift cards and swing tags and a thank you note:

I have another pair of earrings on the way from Carol that she had forgotten to include in the original package. She told me she would be including extras to thank me for my patience. Considering the extras included for one pair of earrings, I am looking forward to receiving the package!

Fantasy Bath [31 Mar 2007|03:04pm]
I've had a hormonal migraine for a few days now and decided to have a Fantasy Bath last night and threw half of an Amazon Rain Forest Bomb in. The scent was perfect, just like walking through a green, lush rainforest. It wasn't perfumey at all and didn't aggrevate my head. The water was a light green and I got heaps of foamy bubbles from the half the bomb I used. As always, impressed with Fantasy Bath.

Here is some porn of my first order and a Bliss Bath:

Amazon Rain Forest
Cinnamon Girl
Dryad
Enchantment
Jamaica Me Crazy
Lorelei
Mai Tai Sunset
Neptune
Persephone
She Sells Sea Shells
Wake Up Sleepyhead
Lemon Drop
Bliss
Mango Tango

In their jars (end jar is Lush)

I used half of the Bliss bomb
